The Last of Us
Inspired by the critically acclaimed video game of the same name, “The Last of Us” TV series is a must-watch. It follows the story of survival in a post-apocalyptic world following an outbreak which turns humans into dangerous infected. The plot is complex and full of suspense, and beautifully conveyed through stunning CGI effects and visuals.
The show centers around two main characters - Joel and Ellie, who are tasked with a dangerous but vital mission to save humanity from extinction. Along their journey, they encounter many menacing obstacles ranging from zombies to military organizations all striving to control them. This creates some intense moments that make for riveting drama throughout the series.
Acting wise, it's outstanding! Every actor delivers an amazing performance that pulls you into the show even more. Joel is played by Pedro Pascal, who does a great job bringing out both his strengths and weaknesses as a character. Likewise, Bella Ramsey does justice to Ellie's character who in some ways carries the entire show on her shoulders. Her innocence, determination and courage form the perfect combination which makes her one of the most beloved characters of all time.
The cinematography is another highlight; it brings out every element perfectly while conveying different moods depending on what part of the story we are at that moment. From calm scenes with beautiful sunsets to adrenaline-filled shootouts in crumbling buildings; they all look gorgeous and capture your attention until the very end.
The overall theme of “The Last of Us” revolves around hope no matter how dire the situation may seem – something that resonates so deeply within us all these days making this show a true gem amongst many similar productions out there today.
