There are far too many rubbish remakes being made in Hollywood a the moment. It would seem that original ideas are being looked over for old IP that is apparently due for a tune up.
Alfred Hitchcock is arguably in the top 5 directors to ever make a film. His movies are masterpieces and Vertigo could be his finest and by no means required a remake.
