There are huge rumours that Dwayne “ The Rock” Johnson is to be involved in a sequel to Big Trouble in Little China.

"Bigger Trouble in Bigger China": Dwayne Johnson set to take on iconic role in highly-anticipated sequel
Fans of the 1986 cult classic "Big Trouble in Little China" are in for a treat with the announcement that Dwayne Johnson will be taking on the lead role in the highly-anticipated sequel, "Bigger Trouble in Bigger China."
The original film, directed by John Carpenter and starring Kurt Russell as truck driver Jack Burton, follows Burton as he becomes embroiled in a supernatural battle taking place in San Francisco's Chinatown. The film was a box office disappointment, but has since gained a cult following for its blend of action, comedy, and fantasy elements.
Johnson, who has become known for his roles in big-budget action films such as the "Fast and Furious" franchise and "Jumanji" series, seems like the perfect choice to take on the role of Burton in the sequel.
According to sources close to the production, "Bigger Trouble in Bigger China" will see Burton returning to China, where he will once again find himself caught up in a supernatural battle, this time on an even larger scale. The film is said to feature even more action and special effects than the original, and will take full advantage of the larger budget that a sequel allows for.
"We're thrilled to have Dwayne on board for this film," said a representative for the studio. "His combination of charisma, comedic timing, and action star credentials make him the perfect choice to take on the role of Jack Burton in this bigger and bolder sequel."
While plot details are being kept under wraps, fans can expect to see some familiar faces from the original film, as well as some exciting new characters.
"Bigger Trouble in Bigger China" is set to begin production later this year and is expected to hit theaters in the summer of 2024.
